I’m in the habit of saying that figuring out holiday cards at an architecture firm is my penance for having what is otherwise a happy and rewarding job. It’s complicated figuring out a design that pleases all my design-expert colleagues, resonates with our clients and partners, and gets in their in-boxes on time. Yet the very thing that makes this complicated is the reason I like working for architects – their relentless pursuit of the optimum combination of beauty and functionality.
Time for a deep cleansing breath, and for a moment of gratitude for the colleagues, clients and peers who make my everyday working life such a true joy. Knowing that every day I get to do work I enjoy in the company of people I both like and respect is among the best gifts I ever received.
